This Basic Life Support for Dental Practitioners first aid training course is designed to equip participants with basic first aid skills and provide a greater understanding of basic life support and CPR for adults, children and infants that may be injured or become ill in a health care setting.

Who should attend?

It is suitable for anyone working within the dental industry including dentists, dental nurses, receptionists and support staff. Basic Life Support (BLS) training is not only a good life skills but also a required mandatory training needed annually in many professions including Nursing, Care Workers, Medical Professionals, sporting and outdoor pursuits.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

Have an appreciation of the value of possessing basic life support skills and have a clear understanding of what to do when faced with a casualty who is not breathing.
Describe and deliver CPR.
Know the difference between administrating CPR to children and to adults.
Know how to help someone who is choking - baby, child or adult.
Know how and when to put someone in the recovery position.
The difference in CPR techniques that should be used within a health care environment and when to use them.
 
Certification

Successful candidates shall be issued with a Basic Life Support certificate and a wallet sized card valid for one year.
