From Our Website
We are delighted to welcome you back to our practice and we have worked very hard to put in place numerous changes which go above and beyond Government guidelines. Despite the new lockdown restrictions announced by the Prime Minister on Saturday 31st October, we are an essential service and will not be required to close. Our practice will remain open and accessible to safely serve our patients. The safety of my patients and staff has always been my number one priority and now is no different, so we have introduced many advanced cross-infection steps to keep you safe and I have detailed some of these below.
Our experienced Hygienists will not only provide you with the highest quality of treatment, scaling and polishing your teeth, but will also help you to maintain your teeth and gums in good condition to reduce the likelihood of additional dental treatment, and advising you on diet, dental aftercare and even on the correct toothbrush and paste for you.
The implant must integrate to the bone before the crown may be attached and this process may take a few months. The advantage of an implant is that it involves no shaping of the teeth either side of a gap and it preserves bone in the jaw there. Implants are generally very effective and may offer a long-lasting solution to patients who want to avoid removable false teeth.
Tooth whitening can be a practical method of lightening the colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surfaces, so it is very conservative of tooth material and under the guidance of a dentist, very safe. It can result in a dramatic colour change; but may also be used to give a more youthful appearance to the teeth in a subtle way. Single, dark or heavily stained teeth (possibly following root treatment), can also be whitened using the latest simple and safe whitening technology. It is possible to change the appearance of a tooth or teeth to restore or enhance a natural look and a great smile, sometimes in just a matter of hours.
We take extra care with every patient to try and ensure that your teeth look as natural and feel as comfortable as possible, matching tones and colours to existing teeth or as required. Regular check-ups are recommended following the installation of dentures to make any adjustments that may be required.
If you are anxious about dental treatment, you will be treated with the utmost consideration and understanding. You will be given back the control that you may feel has been taken away from you elsewhere, and, we will never judge you. We will strive to give you the treatment you require in a gentle, caring manner, personally tailored to your needs, so that you can cope with it. Douglas understands that many people put off visiting the dentist because of fear or anxiety even though they may require treatment and only make an appointment when in severe pain.
