From Our Website

We welcome new private/ independent, Denplan and NHS patients to the practice ( please note NHS places are currently limited). The Whitley Dental Clinic is a family practice based in Whitley Bay offering both NHS and private dental treatments. Our team of dentists and staff are committed to your dental health. Our aim is to inform and educate you about the latest and best dental treatment possible, with the goal to make your teeth last a lifetime. We are pleased to advise we are now open and looking forward to welcoming all of you, our patients back.

At the Whitley Dental Clinic we offer a range of solutions for patients who wish to have whiter teeth. Tooth whitening is a process that involves applying carbide peroxide to the surfaces of the teeth. The active ingredient breaks down and releases oxygen onto the outer layer of the teeth which whitens it. This system uses custom made flexible plastic trays. A whitening gel is applied in the trays. The trays are then worn for a set period (this depends on the product overnight or 2-3 hours every day for 10 - 14 days).

Our aim at Whitley Dental is to welcome you into a practice where you feel at home and any treatment is carried out according to your wishes. We believe in prevention and minimal invasive dentistry. Children are encouraged to develop good dental hygiene at an early stage to avoid the need for fillings. We have many families who regularly attend together for their check -ups and treatments. We believe in having happy staff and happy patients.

A dental implant is an effective replacement for a natural tooth. It is made from titanium which is placed in the position of the missing tooth. The implant is in contact with your jaw bone and over a period of time the bone grows around the implant. Following this a structure will be placed over the implant such as s crown, bridge work or even a denture. Before being considered for dental implants a complete and thorough assessment will be undertaken to ensure implants are the best option for you.

On your first visit to us, we would ask you to arrive at the practice 10 minutes before your appointment time; this is so you can complete a medical and dental questionnaire. Please rest assured that all information you provide is strictly confidential. All new patients are sent a welcome pack with information about our services. When you attend you will be called through to meet your Dentist and his/her dental surgery assistant. We take the time to discuss any dental problems you are having and listen to your concerns.

All your routine dental care and treatment can be provided at Whitley Dental. You will be seen by one of our experienced dentists who will discuss your needs, explain the options, and with your approval, produce a personalised treatment plan and estimate of costs. Whether we need to do routine or complex work for you, or just help you to maintain healthy teeth and gums, we want to make your visits as easy and comfortable as possible. Should you need advanced dental treatment which would be better provided by a specialist, we can make recommendations and arrange an appropriate referral for you.

Invisalign started in 1997 and since then this nearly invisible brace system has transformed over 5 million smiles world wide. Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners which are custom made to fit over your teeth. These gently provide the force required to move your teeth into the correct position. Discreet: Due to their close fit to your teeth and being clear makes them hard to spot. Brilliant if you work in a public facing job, or if you simply don't want people to notice when you're out and about.
