Benjamin Lauffer graduated in 2007 at Manchester university and joined our practice in August 2013. I qualified in 2007 from Manchester university and have been working in hertfordshire for over 6 years, providing both private and nhs treatment. Patient understanding is vital to all aspects of my treatment but I believe in minimally invasive dentistry in a relaxed, modern environment. I qualified in cFast and Smile Tru, a cosmetic orthodontic treatment, affording patients straight white teeth in 3-9 months.
In 2004 we achieved the BDA Good Practice accreditation. The scheme offers dental practices a way to quality assure their service and to inform patients that they are committed to working to a high standard of good practice set by the profession's national association. In 2015 we gained the BDA Good Practice Scheme Gold membership. In 2009 our practice manager Karen was invited by The BDA to join their team and became a Good Practice Scheme Regional Consultant and Assessor. The Good Practice Scheme has become a trusted mark of quality and it depends on the whole dental team complying with standards of good practice.
We aim to provide the highest standards of care in a relaxed, friendly and comfortable environment. We take an hollistic approach. It is the policy of our practice to preserve your natural teeth by preventing the disease processes in teeth and gums. We have a first class preventive care programme which helps us accomplish this. We aim to make you and your family as comfortable as possible during your visits. At your first visit, we will discuss your medical history and conduct a thorough examination which may include x-rays.
What are wisdom teeth? A wisdom tooth is one of the large chewing teeth all the way at the back of your mouth. Not everyone develops wisdom teeth, but if they do develop, it's usually during your late teens or early twenties. What are "impacted" wisdom teeth? An "impacted" wisdom tooth is one that has failed to emerge fully into its ideal position. That failure may be because there isn't enough room in your jaw or because the tooth is emerging at an angle and is pushing against your other healthy teeth.
OUTSTANDING SERVICE Thank you. I always thought my dental practice was brilliant but I can't praise them enough today. Whilst in lockdown I had pain and was liaising with them and they arranged prescriptions and advice other the phone, even hand delivered a prescription to my door. I was contacted on Monday and given an appointment for today, I am so grateful, they have treated my tooth and was so efficient with everything. They looked a bit different in all their overalls but explained everything in an email before hand.
Regular checkups can seem like a pain, but what are they saving you from? So what is the importance of the dental cleaning? While not only beneficial for appearance sake, there are numerous health benefits from a regular check-up of your teeth. For starters maintaining a regular dental check up schedule will ensure that any potential dental issues are quickly identified and treated before they can turn into painful, and highly expensive, medicals issues that may require surgery or permanent treatment options.
We are currently only providing NHS dental care to those patients who have attended since January 2017. This amounts to thousands of NHS patients and, comparatively, we have a very small NHS contract. Following NHS England guidelines and current demand we do not have the funding nor capacity to take on new NHS patients at this time, the first time in this practice's existence. We wouild advise you to call NHS 111 who can provide you with a dental practice with funding to see new emergency patients.
Charles Landau Dentistry does not offer credit and we require fees to be settled at the appointment where treatment is provided. Where treatment incurs a laboratory fee, at least 50% of the total fee is due at the appointment where impressions are taken. Any labwork treatments that are not completed, labwork will only be kept for a maximun of two years. Fees for certain treatments like CFast, SmileTru, Invisalign and bridge and crown work are taken in staged payments at each visit. We will discuss and plan a schedule of payments for you.
