Teeth whitening is a popular procedure for our patients as more of us realise what a huge impact it can have on our smile and confidence without any detrimental affect to the health of our teeth. A brighter smile can help us to look younger and healthier and make us feel good! The most effective method we use is the 'Home Whitening' system. An impression is taken of your teeth and a tailor-made thin shield/tray is made to fit your teeth and hold the whitening gel against your teeth. We recommend that you wear this for at least 10 nights, usually while you sleep, to get the optimum results.

Knowing that your smile looks great can make a real difference to your confidence. At Wycombe Dental Centre, we have a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and enjoy helping you to achieve your 'dream smile'. Treatment options vary from small changes to the contour of a tooth using advance tooth coloured materials, to a complete makeover with veneers (porcelain or direct composite) and/or orthodontic braces. A simple course of tooth whitening, which is carried out at home under the supervision of the dentist, is a great way to start to freshen up the colour of your teeth.

We welcome new patients to our practice, whether as a one-off emergency visit or for regular on-going dental care. The first step is to call us on01494 442 922 so that we can set up a dental record for you. If you require an emergency appointment, then please let us know and we will endeavour to see you as soon as possible. Be sure to mention if you have been recommended to a particular dentist. At your first visit your dentist will do a full examination of the mouth and also check externally around the jaw areas for any problems.

Crowns and bridges usually require 2 visits. The first stage is to shape the teeth and take an impression to send to the dental lab to make the permanent crown or bridge. The dentist will help you choose a shade that matches your adjacent teeth. An acrylic temporary bridge or crown maybe fitted in the meantime. At the second visit, usually 2 to 3 weeks later, the dentist will check that your new permanent crown or bridge fits correctly and that you are happy with the appearance. This is then fixed permanently in place.

The first step would be to come in and have a free initial consulation with one of our Invisalign dentists when you can discuss your initial concerns and what results you would like to achieve. The second step is to return to the practice for a full assessment and moulds are taken to send to the Invisalign lab (there is a charge for this visit). The lab then constructs a series of custom-made clear aligners which you wear everyday and change at home over specific intervals. You will need to see your dentist every 6 to 8 weeks to monitor changes and at the end of the treatment you will have your fantastic new smile!

Veneers are thin shells of tooth coloured material placed over the front surfaces of teeth and are ideal for making changes to the shape and/or colour of your teeth. At the first visit, the enamel of the teeth is usually reshaped and reduced so that the veneers are not bulky. An impression is then taken of your teeth and sent to the laboratory. The technician will create the veneers to the desired shape and colour. This usually takes 10-14 days. Sometimes temporary veneers are fitted whilst you wait for the final ones but this may not always be necessary.
