Perfect Smile Reading is our dental practice and sedation clinic on Oxford Road, where we have been delivering dental care since 1994. We specialise in supporting nervous patients through a calm and carefully monitored clinical environment, with IV and inhalation sedation provided under SAAD-certified care. Our practice combines sedation services with a broad range of NHS and private dentistry, including examinations, emergency treatment, fillings, root canal procedures, crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, dental implants, Invisalign, retainers, professional whitening and hygiene care. We believe treatment should reflect individual needs, and we therefore provide personalised options rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Finance plans are available, and selected consultations are offered free of charge. We also accept sedation referrals from external dental practices.Support for children forms part of our services, with Relative Analgesia available for children aged six years and over to help make dental treatment more manageable. Using nitrous oxide and oxygen through a small nose mask, this approach helps children remain conscious, responsive and able to communicate whilst receiving treatment. Our children's provision includes dental assessments, fillings, extractions, fissure sealants, preventive care and ongoing treatment under Relative Analgesia, with referrals accepted from dentists across Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey. We also offer emergency dental care and same-day appointments where available. Our facilities include free parking and disabled access, and interpreter arrangements can be made when needed. The practice is accessible on foot from Reading and Reading West stations, with several local bus routes serving the area.

We attended today for my daughters treatment under sedation, as she suffers from extreme anxiety in medical and dental settings. We were warmly welcomed by Linda, who immediately noticed how upset and nervous she was. She was incredibly kind and compassionate, and took the extra step to inform the rest of the team in advance.
Everything went smoothly, with all staff making a real effort to keep her as comfortable and at ease as possible. Linda also came to check on her during recovery, which we really appreciated.

Dr Mudassar Riaz is the best. Two visits recently for treatment under IV sedation due to some anxiety but mainly a very strong gag reflex which prevents dentists doing anything at the back of my mouth safely or effectively, which led me to delaying treatment as it was so unpleasant trying to get through it. I was more apprehensive about the actual sedation than the treatment on first visit, but Dr Riaz (and the nurses assisting) put me so at ease and all went smoothly. Second visit the sedation didnt bother me at all as I knew what expect. I remember very little about either procedure which is a big bonus. I wont hesitate to use this practice and preferably Dr Riaz again, for any future dental work that is likely to set off my gag reflex, so I can have it done under sedation. Many thanks.

I have been coming to this dental practice for many years, I have always had the very best of treatment. As a very nervous patient they have always been so kind to me. Recently there have been a lot of changes at the surgery, so going for my first check up with a totally new dentist, was, for me, slightly terrifying. If it is possible to improve on what was, in my opinion, an excellent set up, then that is what has happened. Mr Muddasser Riaz was kindness personified. He chatted, put me at my ease, took xrays and explained them to me. Made suggestions on aspects that might help me with my personal detal care. When I came out I was almost relaxed, which doesn't happen normally with me and dentists. I feel confident that the excellent service I've always received is going to continue. Thank you Mr Riaz and, as always, big thanks to Linda and the reception team, absolutel angels. Best dental practice ever!!

Staff are very friendly for starters, I needed some serious work done to salvage a few too many teeth I dare say however Jerry and the team were very considerate of me and put me at ease with what needed to be done. I had all the work done despite the fears I had after a bad experience elsewhere. Couldn't have hoped for a better result, many filled, this has taken me out of the pain I was in. Unfortunately I lost a couple of teeth to removal with was necessary. I can smile again without worrying about the state of the front teeth, I can't articulate how impressive it all was in the end, I am so relieved and happy with my bite now.

Thanks to all of the team who looked after my son yesterday. The reception team were very friendly and welcoming, as was the dental nurse in the room with Muddassar.
Muddassar took the time to introduce himself and explained what was going to happen - he ensured that we understood and gave us the opportunity to ask any questions.
Then we met James, the anaesthetist - he was chatty, calm and also made sure we knew what was going on.
I left the room for what only felt like 10 mins and then was called into the recovery room, where James and the lovely recovery nurse, Maggie were looking after my son. They explained all the after care top tips and gave me information leaflets. Maggie also made sure I knew their contact number and opening hours (or 111) for follow up help, if needed.
I could not fault this experience - my son even said "I was a bit nervous and I didn't know what to expect but that was actually quite fun and I wouldn't mind if I had to do it again!"
Hopefully we won't need to come back again but I will definitely be recommending you to anyone else I come across, who may need your services - you were FANTASTIC!

I apologise for being very late in posting my review. I wad referred to this clinic early this year and was treated with politeness, kindness and great care. This was from the receptionists right through to the nurse who looked after me following sedation. The dentist was good and very kind, as was the anaesthetist. All in all, it was a very positive experience. Huge thanks to all xx

I have an irrational phobia of dentists after a failed tooth extraction several weeks ago, I was referred to Perfect Smiles and I just want to say my experience was 10/10. The staff are absolutely wonderful, from reception to the dentist, anaesthetist and nurses. I was worried about sedation, but honestly if youre nervous or have dental anxiety I couldnt recommend it enough. Everyone was so kind and calm, and I dont remember anything from my procedure, nor felt anything. So I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone at Perfect Smiles for making my experience the best it could be, and as an incredibly anxious patient that was the best dental experience I could have wished for.

Never thought I'd be writing a 5* review after a root canal procedure but I found Gerrit to be a really nice guy, straight talker (which works better for me) and was brilliant throughout a process that isn't great (though you can't feel a thing).
I was worried before the procedure and I'm thankful that I had someone to do conduct it that was very much on my wavelength and totally professional throughout, much preferred him to my own dentist.

Sedation was the only way my son was going to have the treatment he needed. He was refereed by his own dentist due to how nervous he is. The whole team from Linda in reception, dentist Dr Asim, sedation Dr Shiv, nurse Sumi and the 2 post sedation nurses(sorry did not get their names) were absolutely professional. Everything was discussed before any work was done, you also have an option of interest free payments and a car park is available. Big thank you once again.

Our dentist referred us to Perfect Smile, as my 12 year old son was extremely anxious about having two teeth extracted, to make way for orthodontic work. On arrival the receptionist gave us a warm welcome and ensured the paperwork was in order before settling us in the waiting room.
My son was so anxious that he was crying as he bravely entered the surgery. The team, quickly realising his fragile state, completely put him at ease. After introducing themselves, Muddassar calmly explained the procedure and my son soon settled. He even laughed at Dr Shivs dad joke, as the sedative was being administered, whilst Jocelyn made sure that he was comfortable.
Once the teeth were skilfully removed by Muddassar my son was taken to Maggie in recovery. Once again, everything was explained clearly, as he gently came round. Maggie was so kind and caring and once my son had stabilised, she helped us to the car.

I would definitely recommend Perfect Smile Sedation clinc for a dental extraction. After days in agony it was really quick and easy to get an appointment after referral from my Dentist. Everyone is welcoming and puts you at ease whilst you wait. At my appointment the whole team, dentist Dr Anand, nurse Sumi and anesthetist Ajim made me feel very relaxed before my procedure and it was over in a flash. You dont feel or remember anything so before I knew it Maggie was taking me into the recovery room. If you pay for treatment it's not cheap but worth every penny if you are scared or anxious either about pain or the treatment itself. Thanks for a great experience!

I was referred by my NHS Perfect Smile dentist surgery here in Wokingham to their Reading Surgery as for whatever the reason ? Wokingham were not happy to remove a troublesome wisdom tooth. Being told by Perfect Smile Wokingham that the NHS waiting list could be up to 2months - my only real option was to take the private route - which I did at a cost of - 290.
I have the say as a first time patient to Perfect Smile, Reading - I found the reception staff very welcoming and friendly. The Dentist Mr Snyman ( Gerry ) was very clear and precise in questioning and telling me the procedure - he also took extra care that hed applied sufficient local anaesthetic ( unlike a previous dentist ) the extraction was completed very professionally & painlessly - there after Mr Snyman explained the aftercare procedure - he was patient and very caring - I had no toothache which meant I was able to attend the Reading Music Festival the following day . Following my experience- I can definitely recommended Mr Snymam and the Oxford Rd Staff.

Fantastic, friendly staff. From the receptionist all the way through to the recovery room assistant. The anaesthetist was particularly good with my daughter who is autistic, needle phobic and has sensory processing disorder. They all put her at ease and she said she would like to come there for everything!

Had an extraction done today for 2 wisdom teeth and a front tooth. I suffer with panic attacks so I was a mess as you can imagine however once the sedation went in within 15 seconds I was gone and woke up after what felt like a few minutes. I want to thank all the colleagues who were involved as they were all very informative and told me everything that was going to happen and made me feel much more calmer about what was happening. Exactly the type of support I needed which was perfect! Heres to a simple, easy recovery!

I had an extraction under sedation and was extremely nervous but I couldnt have been put more at ease. The anaesthetist, Dr Shiv was so patient and understanding and the dentist , Anisa explained everything fully before beginning. I wasnt rushed or made to feel silly for being scared and even when probably talking nonsense afterwards, the recovery nurse, Maggie, was so lovely to me. Not an experience Id like to repeat but if I had to, Id be happy with this team taking care of me again.

Came here today after having numerous extractions, fillings and dentures fitted the other day to have a review. Dr Asim makes you feel warm and welcome, always has a chat with you and makes you feel at ease. The reception team are very warm and friendly. So happy with my experience here! Would definitely recommend this dentist to any nervous patients!

I am very anxious about anything teeth related and have found this clinic when it was still under Reading Dental Sedation Clinic banner when my wisdom tooth has started cause issues. The staff was wonderful and prepared for people like me. Dr Snyman was very understanding and gentle and has performed extraction perfectly.
Year later I came back for a check-up and was totally petrified. The ladies from the reception were utmost understanding and calming. Dr as always examined very carefully and without discomfort. The team is just wonderful. I have been convinced to sign up to hygenist and experience was as pleasant as possible and professionally performed. I have received guidance how to keep hygene on higher level.
The team is on top level, excellent and very, very understanding with anxious patients. I will never go anywhere else and would highly recommend and prasie all their work.

I do not usually leave feedback but I felt I needed to as my whole experience was fantastic. When seeing if I could be seen sooner then my arranged appointment the reception could not do enough to make sure the kept me informed with cancellations. When having the procedure everyone was brilliant and very friendly I felt very comfortable and at ease with what was doing on. With the nurse in recovery she was lovely and very helpful! I would recommend 100%. Thank you so much guys.

I went here to have two teeth removed so I can have braces fitted in June. I have an irrational fear of dentists and would not normally be able to sit quietly through a cleaning let alone an extraction. The team here were amazing, not once did I feel uncomfortable or scared. They made sure to thoroughly explain the procedure to me and my mother and made sure I felt comfortable with what they were doing. The anaesthetist was lovely, he had a nice chat to me while putting in the cannula (he did it very well I might add - I had no bruising afterwards) and then sedated me slowly. It felt like 10 seconds later and I was in recovery. I felt no pain as they had removed the teeth gently to minimise trauma and bruising. Even once the anaesthetic and muscle relaxers had worn off I still had no pain. I would seriously recommended this clinic to anyone with fear or anxiety towards dentists as I was very well looked after. Thank you soo much for taking care of me I really appreciate it!
